We are pleased to announce the new ICFHR established from IWFHR as a natural promotion after ten intensive and productive editions held around the world: Montréal, Chateau de Bonas, Taipei, Colchester, Taejon, Amsterdam, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Tokyo and La Baule. ICFHR 2008 will take place on August 19-21, 2008 in Montréal, Québec. The ICFHR/IWFHR series of conferences/workshops provide a forum for researchers in the areas of on-line and off-line recognition of handwriting, pen-based interface systems for the processing of multilingual handwritten documents and forms. The program committee invites the submission of papers for inclusion in the Conference. All accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings, and the authors of accepted papers will be invited to present their work in the form of oral presentations or posters. All papers and presentations will be in English.
†The best papers will be selected for consideration for publication in a Special Issue on Handwriting Recognition of Pattern Recognition journal. The decision of the Special Issue of the Pattern Recognition Journal on Handwriting Recognition is subject to the selection of the best quality of both the accepted papers as well as the presentation during the conference. Details will be announced in due course.
