Banquet
Located on a beautiful island just 7 km from Concordia University and facing the island of Montreal, Helene De Champlain is our majestic banquet location. Surrounded by the St. Laurent River, a rose garden and extraordinary views of the city skyline & La Ronde, (Montreal’s famous amusement park), the remarkable architectural setting will surely impress you. Helene De Champlain will delight you with its French cuisine consisting of delicious culinary treats and a taste of Québec culture.
The banquet will take place as follows (free transportation provided):
Date: Wednesday, August 20th, 2008
Provided: Round trip bus transportation, including a brief look at some city sights
Transportation Location:
The bus will pick up participants (before the banquet) and return participants (after the banquet) to the same address: 1455 de Maisonneuve (across the street from ICFHR Venue - LB Building).
Transportation Schedule (*Please be on time – meet 15 minutes prior to departure):
6:00 pm - Meet up at the bus stop at 1455 de Maisonneuve Blvd. West 6 :15 pm – Bus departs from 1455 de Maisonneuve Blvd. West
10:00 pm – Meet up at the bus stop in the Helene de Champlain parking lot 10 :15 pm- Bus returns from Helene de Champlain to Concordia University
Banquet Schedule: 7:00 pm – Cocktails 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm- Dinner

By car:
The banquet is about 15 minutes from Montreal by car (7 km).
Parking: Is freely available for ICFHR participants at no extra cost.
By public transportation:
The banquet is accessible by via public transportation, and it takes about 45 minutes to get there from the conference venue. Take the Guy metro in the direction of Honoré-Beaugrand Exit at Berri-Uqam metro and switch metro lines Take the yellow metro line in the direction of Longeuil metro Exit at Jean-Drapeau metro station The venue is about a 10-minute walk from the metro.

Montréal region is a tourist destination and accommodations are at a premium during the summer. If you would like accommodations at local hotels offering conference rates, please make reservations no later than July 18th, 2008.
